Planning
Application reference: 15/P2610 and 16/P4333
Planning status: Outline Planning Permission
Planning authority: Merton Council
Application details:
Planning permission was refused on the 3rd of March 2016 for alterations and conversion of the existing building to create 9 flats (7 x 1-bedroom apartments and 2 x 2-bedroom apartments).
The refusal was due to the proposed units not meeting the minimum size requirements, as well as design, privacy and daylight and sunlight issues.
Planning permission was granted at committee on the 18th of January 2018 for the demolition of the existing warehouse and erection of a new-build scheme comprising 8 residential units.
The proposed scheme will provide 4 x 1 bedroom apartments and 4 x 2 bedroom duplex apartments extending to a total of 6,872ft2 GIA with 1 car parking space.
All units are for private sale. The planning consent is subject to a Unilateral Undertaking providing that the development is car-free. A CIL liability of circa £117,000 is applicable.
Now that the principle of apartments has been established there is potential to increase
upon the density, by re-configuring the internal layout’s of the units subject to obtaining the
necessary consents.
