Planning
Application reference: SOT/37651
Planning status: Outline Planning Permission
Planning authority: Stoke-on-Trent
Application details:
The site was previously granted outline planning permission in 2001 for the erection of a retail foodstore (Planning ref: SOT/37651).
The site, in conjunction with the adjoining site, was identified in a Burslem Masterplan as a key strategic development site for the town centre and was considered suitable as a predominantly residential led scheme. A scheme incorporating both sites was approved (Planning ref: SOT/42594), subject to a Section 106 agreement, for the development of some 265 dwellings although the scheme did not proceed.
The local planning manager at the city council, Thomas Coates, is very supportive of either a commercial scheme or a residential scheme on the site and a sketch scheme is available showing how 50 x 3 bed houses can fit onto the site. Thomas Coates can be contacted on 01782 232278 or thomas.coates@stoke.gov.uk. Interested parties will need to seek their own formal pre- application advice on their proposed scheme.
Bjb recommend that potential occupiers make their own enquiries to the local authority in order to satisfy themselves that their proposed use is authorised in planning terms.
